Milk & Honey #3: There's more to Holy Week than Hot Cross Buns

Duration: 33 minutes

Two friends talk about food and Holy Week.

Rosemary thinks of Ruth as an eco-theologian, but neither of them are really sure what that is! Ruth wrote her thesis for her doctorate on the Christian response to consumerism and she is the Churches & Theology Director of A Rocha UK . Rosemary is a food and whisky writer and they met through the Transition Town group in their home city of Chichester in West Sussex, UK.

Boxgrove Priory is 3 miles east of Chichester.

Spring Harvest is a festival of Christianity, held at Butlins at Minehead in Somerset and Skegness in Lincolnshire over the Easter holidays.

Tinwood Estate is the vineyard in the fields beyond Boxgrove Priory. The grapes for the wines link the present day activities around the Priory with its beautiful roof paintings by Lambert Barnard, who work is also in Chichester Cathedral. (Rosemary said Butler in the podcast!)

Our Hot Cross Buns came from The Hungry Guest Bakery. Find your local artisan baker by using the Campaign for Real Bread's finder

More Foods bake hand crafted tray bakes and cakes, including Simnel cakes, which are sold through many delis, farm shops and supermarkets.

Ruth's rhubarb Easter Pudding recipe is here and Rosemary's  recipe for Chinese lamb will added to these notes very soon.
